A WORD FOR YOUR DAY!

I am the vine,ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,and I in him,the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5). On His way from Bethany to Jerusalem, the Lord Jesus became hungry and decided to pick some fruit from a fig tree.
The tree looked bounteous, lush with leaves, but it had no fruit. Disappointed, the Master cursed the unfruitful tree saying,"...No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever..." (Mark 11:14). The next day,as they passed by the same tree, the disciples observed a change and said,"...Master,behold,the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away" (Mark 11:21). The Lord Jesus said in John 15:2 (AMP) "Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He (The Father) cuts away (trims off, takes away);and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit,to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit." As a branch, you're the fruit-bearing part of the vine. The Lord isn't just interested in you bearing fruits, but that your fruits remain and continually increase. He has brought you into a life of ever-increasing productivity. To be unproductive would mean living below your calling. Just as the farmer prunes his trees in order to harvest more fruits,so also the Lord prunes us that we may be more productive. The Lord also made it clear that we must abide in Him,as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abides in the vine. "Ye have not chosen me,but I have chosen you,and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain..." (John 15:16).
