A WORD FOR YOUR DAY! [Pastor Chris ] OCT 10

pastors
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth (Ephesians 4:28). Stealing destroys the personality and soul of the perpetrator; it cripples his abilities and destroys his creativity. Those who steal inadvertently declare their weakness and failure. That's why, according to our opening scripture, God wants them to desist from stealing and work with their hands. Working with your hands, that which is good for God and for people, gives you the opportunity to express the perfections of God deposited within your spirit. God designed for you to work in this world not because you'll starve if you don't (Matthew 6:26), but because there's so much within you the world can benefit from. Natural circumstances may try to force you to believe your job or business is your means of livelihood, but refuse to let such a thought rule your life. The Bible didn't say "Work, that you may be rich"; rather, it says, "work that you may have to give. That's what we read in our opening verse. Someone might say, "I rob and I give some to the less-privileged; that's wrong! You can't "rob Peter to give to Paul. If you want to be a giver, work with your hands. Robbery isn't part of work because it hurts others. Your job ought to be a medium or channel through which you bless others and make the world a better place. It doesn't matter how much you're paid at your job or business, do your job with excellence and shun mediocrity, and the Lord will promote you.
