A WORD FOR YOUR DAY! [Pastor Chris ] OCT11

pastorsOctober 11, 2012
Wherefore I...Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe... (Ephesians 1:15-19). It's important we know how to intercede in prayer for those in the Church who though are born again, are not walking in the light of God's Word, or are yet to be acquainted with the Holy Spirit and what He can do in their lives. It makes no difference that some of them may have been Christians for many years. As long as they're not walking in the light of God's Word, we must pray for them in the manner outlined by the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, in our opening scripture. Pray, "That God would grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. And that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened; that they may know the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe!" Ephesians 3:17-19 says, "...that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." This prayer has to do with the revelation of the love of God in our daily walk. We've got to pray that God's people around the world will know the length, breadth, height and depth of the compelling love of Christ in His vicarious death, subsequent resurrection, and endless life in and for us. Have you heard someone say, "I can't please you and displease myself." That's not God's kind of love; people with such understanding are not yet rooted and grounded in Christ. This is why you've got to pray that God's people would have insight into the love of Christ, which is beyond natural, human comprehension. You can also personalize these inspiring prayers of the Spirit for yourself as well. When you pray this way, you'll constantly experience spiritual development and have greater insight into the things of God.
