A WORD FOR YOUR DAY! [Pastor Anita]

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another (Romans 12:10). 1 Corinthians 13 very clearly describes for us the characteristics of "agape": the God-kind of love. One of such characteristics is that God's love doesn't seek it's own; it's selfless: "...Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights {or} its own way, {for} it is not self-seeking..." (1 Corinthians 13:5AMP). God's love is not selfish; it cares more for others than for self. As a child of God, you must learn to put others first. Love doesn't seek redress or take account of the wrongs done to it. Love seeks only the good of others; it does not retaliate or seek revenge. When the revelation of the God - kind of love dawns on you, it becomes easy for you to suffer hurt on behalf of others and not be bitter against them. It becomes easy for you to overlook the wrong done to you by others. When you're ill-treated by your brother, you'll rather take wrong, and suffer yourself to be defrauded, than have your brother suffer for his actions (1 Corinthians 6:7). If you're born again, walking in love doesn't have to be a struggle; you were born to love. You have the nature of love; therefore, you can love God and love your brothers and sisters in Christ truly. Shine the searchlight of God's Word on your heart today and be sure the attributes of love listed in 1 Corinthians 13 form the basis of your relationship with others.
