Hoodlums Raid DELSU Female Hostels

              Hoodlums in the early hours of yesterday raided female hostels of the Delta State University (DELSU), Oleh campus and carted huge sums of money.


Although police spokesman in the state, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed that security has been beefed up at the campus, our sources however said the hoodlums were armed with dangerous weapons including AK 47 rifles during the operation.

Reports said the 4- man-robbery gang broke into the hostel at about 5:20am while the female students were in prayer session ordering them to be silent while the raid lasted.

Containers of items including tissue papers were said to have been moved into a waiting Toyota Camry with a driver positioned after which they drove away.

Commenting on the incident, the provost of the institution, Prof. Chinedu Mordi, confirmed that the combined security team of the police and the joint military task force has created a peaceful atmosphere after the operation by the hoodlums.

Unconfirmed sources said that some of the students were subjected to sexual abuse while their GSM handsets were snaatched from them.

Meanwhile, two robbery suspects who have been terrorizing Ibusa community in the last few weeks have been killed by operatives of the Delta State Command of the police force.

The robbery suspects, police spokes man in the state Mr. Charles Mukas, said have been behind various murder and armed robbery in the area. According to him, the suspects have been on the wanted list before the long arm of the law caught up with them.
