23-year-old remanded for stealing

Although he pleaded not guilty to the charge, Oladele Ayobami, 23, has been remanded in prison custody for stealing.
On Aug. 31, 2012, at about 11am, at No. 48, Odusola Street, Aboru, Lagos State, Ayobami and another person at large allegedly conspired to commit felony.
He was arraigned on three counts, which are punishable under the Criminal Code of Lagos State.
The charge said on the same date, time and place, the accused broke into the house of one Felicia Adeleke and Olusegun Adeleke, robbing them of their property, which was worth N179,000.
The charge read, “You Oladele Ayobami with one at large conspired together to commit felony and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 409 (2).
“You broke into the dwelling place of the Adelekes, an offence punishable under section 305 (b) (3); stole the sum of N179,000, an offence punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Code, law of Lagos State.”
The court thereafter ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody till the adjourned date of Oct. 8, 2012 when judgement will be delivered.
