A 19 years old boy, John Oweikabo, was Wednesday stabbed to death in a fight at the riverisde Obrigbene community in Ekeremor local government Area of Bayelsa State.
The incident according to a eyewitnesses occurred at about 7.30pm following a scuffle between the deceased and his close friend.
The late John was reportedly stabbed in the neck with a knife by his friend, Daniel Esamgbala, who later fled the community on realizing the enormity of his action.
The loud cry of John for help according to sources attracted sympathizers to the scene who rushed him to the community hospital where he later gave up the ghost.
The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the Bomadi General Hospital morgue in neighbouring Delta according to a security source.
Contacted, the state police public relations officer, Mr. Fidelis Odunna, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) confirmed the tragic incident.
Odunna who said the police had launched a wild manhunt for the suspect and assured that he would be apprehended in no distant time and made to face the full wrath of the law.
