Kanye West quits Twitter, promises return

Always an outspoken artist, West’s relationship with Twitter was a partnership made in social-media heaven. Whether voicing his sartorial pet peeves, reminiscing about childhood trips to discount fur stores, pondering the nature of profanity, idealizing Kim Kardashian’s lady lumps, or late-night ranting about the state of art, the always retweetable rapper/designer/media maven’s 140 character thoughts were consistently the most self-important, loudest and most caps-lock heavy in a sea of loud, self-important, caps-heavy users.
‘Ye has been oddly silent on the matter, leaving fans to ponder where he is and when exactly he plans his highly anticipated return? (Our guess: Watching Siberian thrones, scouting locations for his rumoured Jetsons movie — or the washroom.)
As for whether he’ll be back at all, as he told Us Weekly back in April, if the man tweets he’ll be back soon, he’ll be back soon.
“If I don’t say something in a rap or on Twitter,” he told Us, “it’s not true.”
The Kanye West Twitter account is survived by 8,628, 174 followers.
